**About TAH** Any organisation seeking to achieve lasting success in an ethical way needs clear, strong and committed leadership from the top. TAH has a voluntary Board of Management who, between them, have a range of skills, knowledge and experience and are responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and for ensuring TAH is efficient and achieves its purpose. The Board works closely with the Managing Director, John Shipley, who - with his colleagues in the Senior Management Team - is responsible for all operational areas of work and for maintaining positive relationships with everyone the association works with. In 2007 the Board of Management and the entire staff team agreed that the purpose of the association is *?To house, support and assist homeless single people?* As well as confirming this clear, shared purpose the Board and staff confirmed the values of the association, five key ones being:- *Respect* Being polite, showing an appreciation of the efforts of others, listening and taking people?s views into account, valuing the different experiences and approaches others bring, having the right attitude, using appropriate language, acting in a way that builds self-esteem *Integrity* Being honest, truthful, ethical and frank but not unnecessarily blunt, having good moral values, showing common sense and good judgement, maintaining professional boundaries, ensuring that our actions match our words *Trust* Showing faith in others, letting people get on with their jobs and their lives, creating a feeling of safety and security, sharing information appropriately, enabling not controlling, allowing people to make mistakes in a safe environment *Openness* Being transparent, honest and open to new ideas and suggestions, communicating effectively, creating an environment in which people can express their views without fear of repercussions, doing what we say we will do, keeping people well informed *Equality* Not showing favouritism, taking circumstances into account, offering an equal service and opportunities to all, being fair
